Girls with ADHD are more at risk of self-injury later in life
Girls
diagnosed with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder were more likely to
internalize feelings of failure as they grew older, prompting self-injury, U.S.
researchers found. They also noted that more than one-fifth of girls with both
inattention and hyperactivity/impulsivity had made suicidal attempts. The
findings appear in the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology. United Press International (8/15) http://www.upi.com/Health_News/2012/08/15/ADHD-in-girls-linked-to-later-self-injury/UPI-38451345081030/
