Feds: Relying On Nursing Homes For Those With Disabilities Not OK

The Obama administration is threatening legal action after an investigation found a state unnecessarily relying on nursing homes to provide disability services in violation of the ADA. https://www.disabilityscoop.com/2016/05/03/feds-nursing-homes-not-ok/22257/

cnoe: Raised in New Mexico in the 50's & 60's. Worked with public school programs for students with disabilities for 30+ years, mostly as a director of special education. Worked for 2 years at a small residential state school for individuals with mental retardation. Now working with a state project that provides training and information for parents of children with disabilities. I was on the board of the state association for directors of special education. I also volunteered with ARC of Texas, the Special Olympics program at various levels. There is lots I do not know, but I do have experience and contacts.
