Study: How language problems affect children with ADHD

Children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder may experience poor academic performance because of language problems often associated with the disorder, according to a recent report. Researchers found that children with ADHD were nearly three times as likely to have problems in both speech and comprehension than children without the disorder. "Future research should examine whether language-based interventions are effective in improving academic functioning for this vulnerable group of children," the authors stated.
