Study: Bias exists in intelligence perceptions

A poll of more than 200 kindergarten and first-grade students in New York found they already had formed opinions that white men are more "brilliant" than white women, a belief that can perpetuate gender bias into the future, researchers say. Indiana University's social psychologist, Mary Murphy, who was not involved in the study, says parents and teachers need to show students various types of intelligent people to counter biases.   Los Angeles Times (tiered subscription model)
