Less than 50% of young people treated for anxiety find long-term relief
In a group of 288 young patients who were treated for anxiety disorders, 47% were in remission six years after their treatment started, a study in the journal JAMA Psychiatry found. Patients who responded to their initial treatment were nearly twice as likely to be in remission at six years and had better overall functioning and fewer anxiety symptoms than those who failed to respond to treatment initially. Despite higher remission rates among responders, 48% had experienced a relapse. DailyRx.com (1/29) http://www.dailyrx.com/anxiety-disorders-children-may-decrease-adulthood-adequate-treatment
