Fetal alcohol spectrum disorder linked to impaired gross motor skills


An analysis of studies published in the journal Pediatrics showed that prenatal exposure to moderate to heavy drinking and fetal alcohol spectrum disorder were associated with a threefold increased likelihood of gross motor deficits in children. Children exposed to alcohol while in the womb were particularly likely to have trouble with their balance, coordination and ball skills.
