Therapy dog helps students build skills


Students in special education at a Wisconsin high school are building literacy skills by reading aloud to a dog twice a month. Since they started working with the canine, students have become more engaged and confident in their reading, teacher Beth Cox said.  Beloit Daily News (Wis.)

Wis. school's therapy dogs help students


A speech-language pathologist and a social and emotional interventionist at a Wisconsin middle school both bring therapy dogs to school to work with struggling students. The professionals use the dogs to connect with students or to comfort students who have anxiety or other behavioral issues.
