Self-Advocacy
PACER Center has done it again! Here’s a link to a great resource to help parents and others “start the discussions” with a young person concerning disability and accessing accommodations. It offers three ways to help a young adult learn how to understand, manage, and explain his or her disability to others and obtain needed accommodations. http://www.pacer.org/parent/php/php-c165.pdf. This is a new addition to already wonderful transition resources on that great Web site, www.disability.gov. If you haven’t visited in a while, check it out
