Inclusive Practices Around the World: Pakistan

Harmony Foundation is a non-governmental development organization based in Pakistan whose mission is to create a more equitable world for those living in marginalized communities. Recently, it launched a integrated campaign to "create an inclusive, barrier free and rights based environment for the Persons with Disabilities (PWDs)". The two main components of this campaign are: 1) inclusive education for teachers and parents 2) advocacy and mass awareness. For greater detail on this campaign, visit the Harmony Foundation's website at: http://www.hfpak.org/Disabled%20Peoples%27%20Rights.html#

As part of the campaign, an inclusive school was opened in Toba Tek Singh, Pakistan. This is the first ever inclusive education school in the area. To watch a video about the school, go to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vu4V1SlxqBE&feature=related.
