Inclusive Practices Around the World- Voices of Youth

Inclusive schools celebrate diversity and encourage understanding about cultures and communities throughout the world. Voices of Youth, sponsored by UNICEF, is a global cyberspace dedicated to promoting the exchange of information and ideas about current global events among our world's children. The site is about linking children and adolescents in different countries to explore, speak out and take action on global issues that are important to them. Voices of Youth is guided by the Convention on the Rights of the Child specifically the articles dedicated to ensuring young people's rights to participate in decision making processes, to express opinions freely, and to be equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to bring about change in their own lives and in their communities. Voices of Youth is divided into three major sections: Explore, Speak Out and Take Action. There is also a how-to guide for teachers and community leaders with examples of how the VOY features can enhance their work. The site is interactive so that children across the world can contribute their thoughts and ideas. Find out more by visiting the website at http://www.unicef.org/voy.
