Inclusion Europe is sponsoring an international conference focused on family involvement in the lives of people with disabilities. "Family Action for the Inclusion of People with Disabilities with Intellectual Disabilities in the Society" will be held in Larnaca, Cyprus on May 12-24, 2011.
This conference will look at the necessary action that governments, local authorities, family associations, self-advocates and volunteers can take to support and mobilize families.
One special focus of the Conference will be on the contribution that the method of Personal Future Planning can provide to planning activities with and for people with intellectual disabilities. International experts will introduce the method and provide opportunities for in-depth discussion in various Working Groups.
The conference is co-organized by the Pancyprian Parents Association for People with Mental Handicap and Inclusion Europe. It is supported by the Cyprian Committee for the Protection of the Rights of People with Mental Handicap.
