Data from the World Health Organization World Mental Health Surveys linked childhood anxiety and depression to osteoarthritis, chronic spinal pain, and frequent or severe headache during adulthood. Researchers also found a link between physical abuse during childhood and heart disease, asthma, diabetes and other chronic diseases later in life.
