Theater Group develops Interactive Program for Children w/ Autism

A children's theater group in Chicago offers interactive, multisensory performances designed for children with autism. Camping and hiking are the themes of the latest performances, which allow children to be active participants. "I had a lot of parents tell me that their kids with autism haven't been able to go on a camping trip with their Cub Scout Troop or that maybe there's just too many things that are unknown that would make it not as comfortable or fun so we recreate it in a very controlled environment," the group's artistic director said.
