In a struggle to speak, the iPad is a communication marvel
Columnist Jo Ashline describes the challenges her son with autism has experienced as he learns how to communicate. Fortunately, Ashline writes, he has been assisted by iPad applications. In the less than two years since its release, the tablet has given children with special needs a fun, inexpensive alternative to more complicated communication devices.
