Promoting Effective Parent Involvement in Secondary Education &transition for Students with Disabilities
This document describes how parents can help prepare their children for the world of work. While in school, it suggests that job goals can be made part of the Individualized Education Program. Parents and teachers should consider giving students work-based learning opportunities. Parents can also help their child develop self-determination skills and prepare for job interviews. http://www.ncset.org/publications/parent/NCSETParent_Mar06.pdf
