Center aims to boost effectiveness of special educators
A
new federal Center to Support the Development of Effective Educators to Serve
Students with Disabilities will be created to assist state education departments
that are reviewing and reforming standards for teacher-training programs. The
center, being funded with up to $5 million from the U.S. Education Department,
is expected to collaborate with colleges and universities as well as school
districts to create research-based standards that help teachers work effectively
in inclusive classrooms. Education Week/On Special Education blog
