Early exposure to anesthesia may be linked to learning problems
Children who received anesthesia before age 3 had a higher risk of showing symptoms of language and reasoning problems at age 10 than children who hadn't needed anesthesia, an Australian study found. However, it remains uncertain if anesthesia is the culprit behind the learning problems, researchers wrote in the journal Pediatrics.
