Data on more than 1,000 2- to 5-year-olds in California showed that 6.3% of Hispanic children had symptoms of developmental delay compared with 2.4% in the non-Hispanic group. An estimated 19% of all children with developmental delay included in the study showed signs of autism. The findings were published in the journal Autism.
