Children with autism tend to wander, study shows
U.S. researchers looked at 1,200 children with autism spectrum disorder and found that almost half of them had wandered off, bolted or "eloped" at least once after age 4. The study, published in the journal Pediatrics, also revealed that children who wandered were more likely to have severe autism symptoms and lower intellectual and communications scores than those who didn't wander.
