Findings presented at Neuroscience 2012, the annual meeting of the Society
for Neuroscience, show that early childhood trauma impacts the brain, learning,
and behavior in ways that can last a lifetime. Researchers suggest it increases
the risk of mental disorders, as well as heart disease and stress-related
