Research IDs 25 gene variants tied to autism
DNA samples collected from individuals with and without autism showed 25 new gene variants associated with a higher risk for developing autism spectrum disorder. Although researchers found a link between these genetic variants and increased autism risk, they failed to prove a causal relationship. The findings appear in the journal PLoS One.
