Some charter schools struggle to comply with special-education rules
While charter schools have the same responsibilities as public schools to serve students with disabilities, some charters are unclear what this means for them and how to ensure they are compliant with federal and state requirements. In some cases, charter schools are meeting the challenge by joining cooperatives or setting up centers specializing in certain needs, such as autism.
