Assistive & Durable Medical Reuse
By Guest Blogger Thom Gressman, Assistive Technology Specialist, Three Rivers Center for Independent Living Center
“I need a wheelchair, and I can’t get one through my insurance. Can you help me?”
I’m sure a lot of us have heard that statement throughout the years. In many cases, the answer unfortunately has to be, “I’m sorry, there’s nothing I can do.” Under the Assistive Technology Act, all states are now required to have some kind of assistive device reutilization effort. That is the long way of saying each state is supposed to have a program which re-uses durable medical and assistive devices. https://usodep.blogs.govdelivery.com/2013/04/19/assistive-and-durable-medical-device-reuse/
