Cognitive behavioral program yields improvements in teens' well-being


High-school students who were placed in a cognitive behavioral therapy-based program had higher grades in health class and better social skills than peers who received standard health courses, U.S. researchers found. The study in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine showed the intervention group also had a reduced risk of being overweight as well as lower depression levels and alcohol intake.
