CDC issues guidance for schools on handling food allergies
The CDC has released recommendations for managing food allergies in schools. Schools are not required to follow the guidelines, which include prohibiting the use of food products classified as allergens in classrooms, but the recommendations could make schools safer for children, advocates said. Fifteen states and many school districts in the U.S. have created their own guidelines for handling food allergies.
