Mentor program helps students with autism interact with peers
An elementary school in Nebraska has started an after-school program that gives students with autism in third and fifth grades a chance to interact with their peers. In Circle of Friends, students are partnered with a group of four peer mentors to work on language and social skills. The program also seeks to combat bullying by raising disability awareness.
