Study: Adults with autism show improved symptoms with independent work


Vanderbilt University researchers suggest independent-work environments may provide therapeutic benefits for adults with autism. In surveys of parents of 153 adults with the disorder, ranging from 19 to 53 years old, researchers found that working, especially in more independent environments, improved communication and social- and daily-living skills.
