Tobacco, alcohol use more likely in teens with ADHD symptoms

Data on more than 2,500 teens showed those with symptoms of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder and/or conduct disorder were at an increased risk of tobacco and alcohol use at a younger age. Researchers also found the odds of tobacco and alcohol use grew 8% to 10% for each additional inattention-related symptom. The findings appear in Drug and Alcohol Dependence.
