Districts teach mindfulness to help students who self-injure


Some districts are using a mental health curriculum based on dialectical behavior therapy to assist students who self-injure or have other emotional issues. Districts use the therapy, which focuses on mindfulness techniques that help students identify and soothe emotions, in health class or small-group therapies.
