New Study Sheds Light on Health Needs of Adults with Autism


A new study shows that adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) are more likely to have serious health problems like seizure disorders and depression. The study, which was published in the "Journal of General Internal Medicine," shows a need for greater advocacy and awareness to ensure that adults with ASD get the care they need. According to the study young adults with autism had higher rates of hypertension, high cholesterol, allergies and anxiety.
