Tune In to a Radio Program Designed for You

Illinois is home to the only live public affairs terrestrial radio program dedicated to disability news and information in the United States?  Disability Beat is a 30 minute program that has aired weekly for the past ten years, & covers a wide variety of topics, including those pertaining to intellectual & developmental  disabilities, mental health, accessibility, community & school inclusion, self determination & political issues.
At its heart, though, is an effort to shine a light on the movement toward inclusive community  options & social justice for people with ID/DD, covering topics such as creative housing options, flexible supports, customized employment, & self-determination. It is available over the air in the Champaign-Urbana area at 90.1fm every Monday from 5:30-6:00pm CT, or you can tune into the live webstream at www.weft.org/listen.  There is a podcast available on iTunes.
