New Transition Guide from OSERS
The
U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative
Services (OSERS) has published a new Transition
Guide to Postsecondary Education and Employment for Students and Youth with
Disabilities. The guide provides information that can help both
families of youth with disabilities and professionals better understand how
State Education Agencies, school districts, and vocational rehabilitation
agencies work together to facilitate improved post-school outcomes for youth
with disabilities. One helpful chart, for example, aligns transition services
authorized by both IDEA and Rehabilitation Act into a single flow chart of the
transition process. Read more (pdf).
