Study examines timing of autism diagnoses


Co-occurring conditions, such as attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, affect the timing of a diagnosis of autism, according to an analysis of data on children with autism at age 4 and 8. Researchers found that children with ADHD, anxiety or oppositional defiant disorder received a diagnosis 10 to 12 months later than other children. Spectrum News
