Technology use by adolescents is growing but should not be
considered uniformly problematic, says Joseph McGuire of the Johns Hopkins
University School of Medicine, noting how the use of video games can engage
youth therapeutically. A literature review noted risks related to technology
use by teens including "cyberbullying, sending sexual content, excessive
use, and compromised privacy."
