Pediatricians providing care for youths with disabilities should
coordinate with speech, occupational and physical therapists to facilitate
skill recovery or discovery, according to an American Academy of Pediatrics
clinical report in Pediatrics. The report also called for clearly written
therapy prescriptions and warned against the prescription of unproven
treatments, such as hyperbaric oxygen therapy for those with cerebral palsy. Disability
