Prenatal omega-6: omega-3 ratio tied to pediatric ADHD risk

Spanish researchers found that every unit increase in umbilical cord plasma omega-6: omega-3 ratio was associated with a 13% increase in pediatric attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder symptoms by age 7. The study in The Journal of Pediatrics, based on data involving 600 Spanish youths, "adds more evidence to the growing body of research on the importance of maternal diet during pregnancy," said researcher Jordi Julvez.   Deccan Chronicle (India)/Asian News International
