Children whose mothers had hyperemesis gravidarum were 53% more
likely to develop autism spectrum disorder, compared with those whose mothers
didn't have severe morning sickness, researchers reported in the American
Journal of Perinatology. The findings associated hyperemesis gravidarum during
the first and second trimesters, but not during the third trimester, with
increased odds of pediatric ASD, while severe morning sickness-related ASD was
