Severe morning sickness ups pediatric ASD risk

Children whose mothers had hyperemesis gravidarum were 53% more likely to develop autism spectrum disorder, compared with those whose mothers didn't have severe morning sickness, researchers reported in the American Journal of Perinatology. The findings associated hyperemesis gravidarum during the first and second trimesters, but not during the third trimester, with increased odds of pediatric ASD, while severe morning sickness-related ASD was more likely among girls.  HealthDay News
