A study in Autism Research found that newborns with autism spectrum disorder had significant prolongations of the auditory brainstem response phase and V-negative latency, compared with those without ASD. The findings, based on data involving 139,154 newborns, also showed that newborns with ASD showed greater variance in their latencies, compared with past studies involving older ASD samples.
