Police sergeant, father creates autism-training program

Mark Farrar, a sergeant with the Akron, Ohio, police department whose 4-year-old son has Asperger's syndrome, trains his fellow officers and dispatchers on the best methods for recognizing and interacting with individuals with autism spectrum disorders. Farrar's sessions have been popular with local officers and may be used as a model for others statewide, his commanding officer said.
