Parents of children with ADHD dread a new school year
A recent poll found that about 81% of Canadian parents with children who have attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder dread the start of the school year. "School is the most difficult environment for children and teenagers with this condition," said Derryck Smith, a child psychiatrist. Philippa Fisher, a mother of two children with ADHD, said she adapts to the challenges of a new school year by instituting a rigid routine.
