Educators, researchers aim to address "quieter" forms of ADHD

New research aims at more accurately identifying students with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, particularly those who may be quietly inattentive -- a designation that often applies to girls. New methods for addressing the symptoms focus on the underlying problems with impulse control and brain function, rather than outward symptoms of attention and behavior. One school for students who have unstable families is using cognitive-training software to improve the focus and attention of all students, including those with symptoms of ADHD.
